Ben Taffinder, was born in Cirencester in 1981, and moved with his farming family to the Roseland Peninsular in Cornwall when he was fourteen.
Studying Fine Art at Falmouth College, then went on to create art installations for many outdoor sculpturing events in Europe and Asia. Whilst studying and sculpturing, Ben also worked as a diver and fisherman for his family’s business near Portscatho.
Ben started painting full time in 2010 and his brushwork was popular amongst the locals and visitors to the area. When he started creating superb pallet knife impasto work, however, his popularity soared and his local landscapes and especially his still life work is exceptionally sought after.
Working in oils mostly in pallet knife, Ben paints ‘plein air’, directly from life, within the Cornish landscape he feels very much his home. He is especially drawn by the sea which has been such a huge influence in his life and his work.
