Katharine Jennings grew up in an artistic family: from florists and animators to graphic designers and watercolour artists, but it was as a teenager she discovered her love of drawing.

Her first paid commission at 15 put her on the footpath to an artistic career and she went on to study an art foundation diploma at Hastings College of Art and Technology.  Later with a focus on animation.

In 2009 Katharine was painting part time whilst being a Property Lawyer and mother but after her second child in 2012, she decided to leave the legal world and pursue a full time art career.

Since then, Katharine has undertaken countless commissions for collectors both in the UK and abroad including Australia and in 2018, she opened a studio in Rotherfield, East Sussex, where she paints and teaches both adults and children.

Katharine’s work is imbued with her fascination for animation as well as her love of fine art.  She endeavours to breathe life into every artwork, creating an energy around each piece.  That, combined with her love of impressionism, is the inspiration for all of the work she currently produces.
