Sarah Jane Brown

Scroll down for Sarah Jane’s Biography

Sarah Jane Brown studied Fine Art Painting at the West Wales School of the Arts, graduating with a first-class honours. After a career in maritime, she is now a full-time artist.

She has undertaken many successful solo shows and exhibited on numerous occasions at recognised institutions including at the Royal Society of Marine Artists at the Mall Galleries, The Royal Cambrian Academy in North Wales and she is a qualified Member of the Guild Society of Artists.

Sarah’s paintings are an outpouring of personal feeling and a strong sense of place; using the landscape – especially those of her home county of Pembrokeshire – metaphorically to describe thoughts and emotions.

Whether painted, scraped, flicked, spattered or even poured on she works meticulously until the finished painting emerges. Her titles are deliberately ambiguous, emerging from phrases or excerpts of poetry, that cross her mind when working.

Sarah has steadily gained momentum over the last few decades and her work now collected both in the UK and internationally.
